Resign Nichuskkin 2 years, $2 million per year
Resign Graves 5 years, $3 million per year
Resign Burakovsky 5 years, $4.75 million per year
Resign Zadorov 4 years, $4.75 million per year
Resign Namestnikov, 4 years, 4.5 million per year

Trade Jost, Kamenev. Let Nieto walk. Barbs is gone, good riddance. Let everyone else walk. Look at goalie options, keep Francouz and trade Grubauer if you have to for an upgrade. Bring in 1-2 big body forwards with some pop and physicality. Need a hard nosed depth defenseman.

Kamenev already signed in Russia so he's already gone, but yeah... this sums it up exactly. I can't even remember the last time Nieto did anything other than just be on the ice, it will be nice seeing O'Connor take his spot.

That drive went at least 120 yards. Impressive.

I would love if the Avs could get their hands on Kris Letang, he's exactly the king of defenseman they need. Stanley Cup experience, battle tested.
7.25 mil at 2 more years though? Pietrangelo is a pipe dream for me, he would never sign here but Id love to have him. Avs couldnt fit his contract in unless we traded Z.

We have a chance next season to see what will happen before Cale and Gabe get paid. If Joe can get Landy around $5-$6 mil that would be great. I hope Cale realizes that taking a discount to win the cup is more important than asking too much and hurting your team down the road

It's not a very well kept secret that Jim Rutherford is a little small-brained, but I feel like trading even Kris Letang is beyond him. He pulled this same crap with Malkin last summer and tried to motivate him by "shopping" him to other teams. In reality he never intended to trade him and the only thing that Geno needed to get him going was to take JJ off the ice.

And he's well aware that he's the only person on the planet (with the exception of maybe Mike Sullivan) that thinks Johnson is worth icing every night. He's already rebuked the media when they point out how bad he is. I don't know, I just can't see him trading away the team's best defenseman, a guy who wants to retire a Penguin, when you have an absolute black hole you can get rid of to immediately improve the team.

I'm glad someone else mentioned Pietrangelo first, I figured if I suggested the Avs should be interested that I'd get flamed a bit. But if all it took was to shed ourselves of Zadorov's salary to bring him on, I'd help Z pack and drive him to the airport. I think he's one of those players I over value because he's on my team; I love those huge hits but you can't ignore the ugly things that happen when he's out of position trying to make them. I think Joe should kick tires on Pietrangelo and worry about the cap later.

Landy is gonna get a raise. He's already making 5.5 so he's probably going to get at least 6, maybe 7. But we can afford to wait and see with Makar until after the season, it's not like he'll be an UFA anyhow. Gotta be willing to take some risks now because the window is wide open.
